Not surprisingly, Island whiskies tend to be influenced by the sea and the rugged landscapes they’re distilled in.

Island whiskies do vary but they tend to share a salty marine character. The great Talisker distillery produces big peaty malts, while Scapa produces an elegant whisky that is much smoother and sweet. Highland Park is famous for its perfect balance that has something appealing for everyone.

Highland Park 12 Year Old Single Malt

Colour Glowing amber. Medium-Light, Dry, Taste is Rounded smoky Honey sweetness; full malt delivery. Finish is Teasing, heathery, delicious.

Talisker 10 Year Old Single Malt. (Tal is ker)

Colour Deep gold. Full-Bodied, Dry, Pungent,Taste is of rich dried-fruit sweetness with clouds of smoke and strong barley-malt flavours, warming and intense. At the back of the mouth is an explosion of pepper. Finish is Huge, long, warming peppery finish with an appetising sweetness. Compare with Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Clynelish, Lagavulin & Laphroaig.
