The Lodge Flair Battle Vegas

Born to give bartenders the freedom to create a fun and entertaining show while maintaining the integrity of flair bartending with an evaluation of skills and techniques. The Lodge Flair Battle will host the first edition of another fully promising Flair Bartender Competition under the Vegas sun with the best flair contestants from all over the globe. Qualification rounds will be held on Tuesday, January 11th, 18th and 25th, with the grand final on Tuesday 1st of February. The event is sponsored by Three Olives Vodka, Coors Light, 1800 Tequila and Finest Call Premium Mixes.

The Lodge Flair Battle Rules
Introduction
The Lodge Flair Battle will be held at The Lodge located on 8350 S Rainbow Blvd.

Qualifying rounds dates:
Tuesday the 11th of January 2011 8:00 pm
Tuesday the 18th of January 2011 8:00 pm
Tuesday the 25th of January 2011 8:00 pm
Grand Final date:
Tuesday February 1st, 2011 at 8:00 pm
Each competitor will be required to open at least one beer and make two (2) drinks in the flair round. Qualifies (4 minutes) and Final (5 minutes) featuring both working flair and exhibition flair skills.
General Rules
This will be an open competition.
The TOP 2 of each week will qualify for the grand final.
Entry fee will be $25 for first week attempt (or first time competing), $20 for the second week attempt (or second time competing) and FREE pass to compete the third and last qualifying round.
Every competitor its going to have a Bar Tab of $20.00 for every single time competing, by courtesy of The Lodge, plus tons of bar specials as Coors Light Draft and Three Olives drinks for just $3.00.
Qualifying rounds: 4 minute round.
Grand Final: 5 minute round.
Any acts that display low integrity, poor taste or disrespect for the competition,
Sponsors, host of facility or event staff is subject to disqualification.
All competitors are asked to be at The Lodge no later than 7:00 pm.
The Lodge is located at 8350 S Rainbow Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89139.
All competitors must be at least twenty one (21) years old.
Music must be provided in CD Audio format (not MP3) and in its own case, properly
labeled with your name and track number. It is highly recommended that you bring more than one copy of your music with you in case it is damaged or unreadable. Event staff is not responsible for damaged or unreadable music.

Competition sponsors are Three Olives Vodka, Finest Call Premium Mixes, Coors Light Beer, and The Lodge.
Competitors will not be allowed to wear logos of any companies conflicting with the sponsors of the event.
All rules, guidelines and drink recipes are subject to change at the discretion of the competition organizers.
Flair Rules
Each competitor will have a four (4) minute round in the qualifying and a five (5) minute round on the final.
During their routine, each competitor must open a Coors Light beer, pour a shot of 1800 Tequila with Working Flair in a shooter and make a Three Olives Vodka Specialty Drink with Exhibition Flair, that must include at least two (2) flavors of Three Olives Vodka, one flavor of Finest Call and many competitors choice bottles he desires. Any glassware can be used for this drink.
One 1800 Tequila bottle must be set to no less than quarter full for the working flair drink. All other bottles can be set at no less than 1⁄2 oz. No empty bottles can be included in the competition bar set up.
All bottles used must have their original sponsor brand labels intact.
Competitors won’t be allowed to use any vodka and tequila competitor choice bottles other than 1800 & Three Olives.
Each competitor choice bottle can have no more than three (3) strips of tape, 1” (2cm) wide.
Pour spouts can have one strip of tape around them.
Competitors can set up the competition bar any way they choose, but it is highly recommended that nothing starts on the upper bar surface to help with visibility for both the audience and the judges.
No fire tricks of any kind will be allowed.

Overall Performance – 100 Points
Difficulty – 50 Points
Smoothness – 50 Points
Technical Execution – 50 Points
Variety – 50 Points
Showmanship – 50 Points
Sponsor Promotion & Appreciation – 25 Points
Penalties and Deductions
One (1) Point per Occurrence
Drops of any bottle, shaker tin, glassware, or bar tool that leaves your control while attempting a move and hits any surface. Competitors will be penalized one drop for every object they lose control of and do not catch.
Indirect Breakage of any glass object that happens as a result of no direct action from the competitor. For example, if a bottle is dropped and bounces several times before breaking, this will be considered an indirect break.
Five (5) Points per Occurrence
Direct breakage of any glass object that happens as a result of a direct action from the competitor. Competitors will receive one penalty for each object that breaks.
Twenty-five (25) Points per Occurrence
Missing, wrong, or a drink that is not fit to be served. An example of an incomplete drink would be a drink that is only half full.
One Hundred (100) Points per Occurrence
Not including the required sponsor brands in either the working flair drink or the exhibition flair specialty drink, per occurrence.
Drink Recipes
1. Coors Light Beer
Open a Coors Light beer and serve on upper bar surface, preferably label out.
(10 points bonus will be added to the final score for being creative while open the beer.)
2. 1800 Tequila Shot (Working Flair)
Pour a shot of 1800 tequila with working flair in a shooter glass. (Bottle will be set ¼ full)
Garnish with Lime wedge.
3. Three Olives Vodka Specialty Drink (Exhibition Flair)
Three Olives flavor 1, Three Olives flavor 2, Finest call premium mixers (any flavor), Competitors choice bottles: many competitors choice bottles he desire. (Competitors wont be able to use any vodka and tequila bottles other than 1800 & Three Olives) Glassware: Optional
The competitor specialty drink must be made using any two (2) flavors of Three Olives Vodka and one flavor of Finest Call Premium Mixes. Flair Bottles will be set not less than ½ oz. No competing liquors, or beers will be allowed as ingredients. All extra ingredients, mixes, garnishes, glassware or tools are the responsibility of the competitor. All bottles used must be product specific.
Competition Tools
Flairco Portable Bar – Competitors can set up the competition bar any way they choose, but it is highly recommended that nothing starts on the upper bar surface to help with visibility for both the audience and the judges. .
Bottles – all bottles should have their labels intact.
Glassware – 9oz Rocks and shooters glasses will be provided.
