Junipero Gin I first discovered the wonders of Junipero gin whilst living in London & became an instant fan. It gave the Dry Martini an extra quality. Being half Dutch & having lived in Amsterdam before moving to London, I had become accustomed to Dutch Geneva.
The Dutch Geneva’s tended to have a much more potent flavour & be extremely strong. The thing I liked about Junipero is because it has a higher concentration of Juniper berries than any other Gin it also has a lot more flavour. Junipero Gin is produced in San Francisco, California, USA by Anchor Steam whom I have been told are very famous for their beer. Junipero Gin is a boutique small batch spirit made in small copper pot stills at Anchor steams little distillery at Potrero Hill on San Francisco. Junipero Gin is handmade, utilizing more than a dozen natural state botanicals. The main flavour in Gin comes from Juniper Berries, However the modern challenge for distillers is in selecting and blending a gin from a wide variety or exotic botanicals in order to impart a distinctive yet balanced quality for the gin. Anchor Distilling have achieved a distinctive, stimulating complexity with Junipero Gin. It’s gentle, crisp, fresh & has an elegant delicate spiciness to its flavour. Junipero Gin is also one of the rare strain of over proof Gin’s so it’s also very strong. The Anchor Distilling Company was only established in 1993. They have dedicated themselves to the creation of very small batches of premium spirits, of a large range of styles. Also experiment with completely new products. All I can say if you haven’t as yet tried Junipero Gin & you like a Martini or drinking Gin cocktails then this is a product you should try. |
